The Story Behind ELLA
For over a decade, deep relationships have been cultivated with women farm owners in Guatemala. Producers like Ana Maria Ortega and Paty Perez demonstrate the special strength, resilience, and generosity of women in farm-level leadership.
Across Guatemala, women make up the majority of the labor force on coffee farms—from picking to export—and globally comprise up to 70% of coffee farm labor while owning disproportionately few assets. ELLA was created as an initiative to diversify sourcing, provide direct market access, and highlight these powerful stories. Curated alongside Onyx Coffee Importers and an in-country QC Lab in Guatemala City, ELLA represents long-term investment in empowering women producers.

I love Guatemala Ella! I was just introduced to it by the barista at Indaba on our last visit to Spokane. It has become my new favorite. Smooth with a touch of chocolate.
Love the flavor and aroma it gives
